Author Guide

Author Guidelines

  • Academy Journal of Educational Sciences [ACJES] accepts the articles that will be sent only on open journal system. 
  • The authors should upload their articles after writing or editing them abiding by journal’s article template. 
  • APA 6 style should be used for in-text citations and writing references. Please click on the link to get information about APA 6 style.  http://www.apastyle.org/learn/index.aspx
  • The studies sent to the journal are expected to consist of 15-20 pages (or 7500-10000 words).
  • Whether the article uploaded to the system by the authors will be taken into evaluation is decided by investigation of editorial board.

Heading Levels

First Level Heading

(centre justified, first letters capitalized, bold) 

Second Level Heading

(flush left, first letter of each word is capitalized, bolt)

Third level heading

(flush left, only first letter of the first word is capitalized, bolt) 

Fourth level heading

(flush left, only first letter of the first word is capitalized, bolt, italic)

Fifth level heading

(flush left, only first letter of the first word is capitalized, italic)


Text Features

  • Article text should be written with Open Sans typeface, 1 row spacing and 8 type sizes [Headings 10 type sizes]. The text should be written justified and margins, 3 cm on the left, 2,5 cm on the right, 2,5 cm up and 2,5 cm down should be left. Indent from left should not be done when starting a new paragraph. 6nk and 1 row spacing space should be left between paragraphs.

Tables and Figures

  • Open Sans typeface, 8 type sizes, 1 row spacing should be used and the text should be justified when the tables are prepared. 6nk 1 row spacing space should be left between table number (Table 1, Table 2, …) and the text. The sub-line should be used after the table number is written and the table name should be written justified, italic, each word’s first letter capitalized. 6nk 1 row spacing space should be left between the table and text.
  • 6nk 1 row spacing space should be left between the text and the figure when the figures are prepared. Figure number (Figure 1. Figure 2. italic) and name of the figure should be written under the figure. Name of the figure should be written next to the figure number.


References

  • The references should be listed alphabetically when the bibliography is indicated. 
  • The references should be organized alphabetically when citing multiple references in the text.

Giving References/Citing-Quoting

Quotation

When citing a reference directly the original text is transferred as the same (even the spelling errors are not changed). If the expression quoted is less than 40 words it is indicated in double-quote “ ” and the reference is indicated.

When quoting, if the expression quoted is more than 40 words, the text is written in a separate paragraph by blocking (downsizing the type) and 1,5 cm recessed without using double-quote. 

Citation

In citation, the original text is expressed by changing and the reference is indicated.
